By the way: You can't have a star or planet hidden. Everything that is near us and emits or reflect light would be visible even without telescopes on the night sky.

The flaw of this wager is that pascal never took into account that the proportionality between the means and the ends of his wager were variables. The two are dependent upon each other and the wager thus can not be fully justified. In the same way, freaking out about an uncertainty defies all sense of logic. In other words it doesn't matter whether the world ends in 2012 or not, the notion itself is an uncertainty and thus the ends of the wager vary based on the means of the wager, thus its completely irrational to make the wager or to act on the notion that the world may end in 2012.

About Pascal's Wager, well, even if at first he gave 50%-50% chances to the existence/inexistence of God, after that he stated something like "you don't lose anything if you believe in God", so that was the point how he "deducted" the existence of God.
2012 is an end of this wold or just a beginning of a new one?
Anyways, there will still be cool things before we all "die", as exaple: at 28.08.2009 Mars will be closest to Earth, and you will be able to see it with eye. Thats worth to look
