It's control is perfect, now, let's recount, think off on other 2D games like maple(shit)story or Megaman, want to know what the majority of death's reason is?
Not being able to hit something
Being able to only attack on a horizontal manner ruins the game, not being able to attack enemies below or above is shit, seriously, goddamn Contra allowed you to shoot in all directions, and it's still challenging
For instance, Maplestory, a huge failure in my eyes, has NO genuine challenges, the Devs just popped in random enemies and all that shit, added God-forsaken controls and terrible level designs, half the time, I can't hit something before it hits me, and usually, the only way to hit something is to jump......right into the target itself, and hoping I have enough health to survive
It's a clustershit of cheap deaths and crap controls
Castlevania IV's perfect controls mean that you can whip in all directions, jumping is totally controlled by you, and best of all, instead of millions of variables that could have
won you through a thing if changed, Castlevania IV has no tricks or anything, it's just your whip, you, your reflexes and mind, a bunch of subweapons and hearts as ammunition, perfect controls, awesome music, and that's all, best sidescroller game ever in my opinion
Second on the list lies the touhou series, and what can I say? Millions of bullets, awesome music, great characters, and lunatic dodging
Third goes Starcraft, and.......well, it's epic, best RTS ever, period

Agreed, a very, VERY good game.
When i look at some peoples posts: You don't know anything about videogames.
Crysis is a good shooter too (and also a good Benchmark).
But i like COD4 COD5WAW(zombies)CodMW2 COD7BO COD MW3(whens out) GTA IV,GTA SA,Fallout New Vegas
