What do you think about Eurovision sound contest 2008? Do you even know it?
I think it is great. Different countries and music competes with each other.
This is a thread where you can talk about music and of course Eurovision sound contest.
You probably mean the Eurovision Song Contest, right?
I have no clue who'll be there this year, and to be honest, I don't really care. Most bands seem to be made up directly for the contest and will disappear as soon as it is over (which is imho a good thing, since I don't like their music anyway), so I don't think it is necessary to pay to much attention
Various, mostly Rock, Disco/Pop and Orchestral. Billy Joel, Petula Clark, Queen, Mike Oldfield, Jethro Tull, Danny Elfman, Maywood, George Harrison, Joe Dolce, The Hooters, John Williams, just to name a few
My taste is very song specific, sometimes I just have one or two title from a certain artist (sometimes even outside my usual preferred genres)
It was nice when Finland won. But our song wasn't good. You maybe know it too two year ago. We did point record too. I watch Eurovisions every year when I remember. We cant vote own countries from our countries. I hope Finland can win second time too. I think it will be bit of dance, pop style of contest.
About the Eurovision, I dont know what they will play on there. And even I dont like all their songs it have to whatch anyway. At least i have a good laugh when there is bad performer on a stage. Ex. (for example) last year there was some rap shit from England. that was really bad.
I said I didn't like about Lordi
By the way that Singer of Lordi band was a Christian before. Youth team leader of congregation.
There has happened really big chance from it. Everybody should know that playing games with hell or devil is dangerous. Don't even try it.

It's just singing
Voted for Latvia that year, theyre song seemed to be the most original.
You may keep it that way " it doesn't matter, what he signs." but truth is he is playing games with something. What he really shouldn't do. ! ---> Back to the topic.
There were many good artists in Eurovision last year.
Unfortunately I don't remember even those countries.
I just remember to good show. And they where really good musics as well.
I try to explain them to you, maybe you get a pic of them and remember the artist and country.
One.
There were man which had dressed in white suit or something. And there were some shining things in his suit. And that man was dressed into suit which made him to look like a women.
He was singing "Hello Everybody, I cant speak English but let's speak Dance"
And number two was.
It was Latvia or Lithuania or something like that. Or then it was Poland. Unfortunately I don't remember. But they were siging "we are the winners of eurovision"
Of course there where more good tracks. But I don't remeber them now.

I heard about it on my way back from my concert, and I was totally happy that finally a metal band made it. Because what I can't stand about the Euro Song Contest is all that kitschy stuff. There are love songs I like, but the participants of that contest (or rather, the particular committees that decide who participates) really overdo it. I hope this will fertilise the contest in the future. Especially our participations (which usually are crappy).

I think this topic has nothing to do with me,I live a little far from Europe
Pop music in China sucks.
At least the traditional music is good

Sure you're from Finland? I thought you all stride through the forest, listen to Korpiklaani, tell each other mythological tales at the fire in Langhusets and hang every christian that comes across (if you're not busy burning down Stave churches)
Well, I find Lordi very funny with their exaggerated horror stuff. And I find it most awkward that you take it so serious.

Maybe Rammstein will participate soon?
Hehe just a crazy thought of mine.
But the sound of more styles of music other then pop does sound realy good.

I ment it is a serious thing. i don't take it like it would be the worst thing on the earth. And certainly it is bad thing that people play games with something they shouldn't do.
Yes I am from Finland.
