I'm working on making the changes between difficulty modes are bit more than just "You start with less stuff. And there is more bad stuff."
For example;
On hard mode, you cannot build wells, you do not have a compass, and there are no fountains.
On medium mode, you can build wells (but there is a 4/5 chance of the well being useless), but 10 days after you build the well there is a random chance (1/5) of the well drying up. You also have no compass and there are no fountains.
On easy mode, you can build wells, and you have a compass, and there is a chance of fountains spawning.
~~~
I'd like some more ideas for ways to differentiate between easy\medium\hard mode. I was thinking changing how much certain foods give based on what difficulty you were playing.
Another idea was disabling\enabling different systems I'm coding based on the difficulty mode. For example, diseases\illnesses would probably be disabled on easy mode. While random food allergies would be enabled on hard mode.
I know this is an old post, but has a "custom difficulty" option been discussed? This, meaning you get to select what things/features you want on or off. For instance I could turn on well building, but disable fountains.
What about making animation of axe, foshing rod, shovel...?
I like how you just completely restate Ethan's post (which is right above yours), instead of say, replying to it, or say, not posting.
The reason I am probably not going to do animations for everything is simply because it takes too much time to get all the images made.
Effectively, these are the plants that need to be watered;
Grain
Tomatoe
Berries
Grapes
Potatoe
Cotton Plant
Hemp
(might've missed one or two)
You've got 3 ways to water plants (one tedious, one based on luck, and one that looks awesome).
By hand. Basically this means filling water pot with water and using it to water each plant individually. Not fun.
The other way is to wait for it to rain. Not only does a good rain shower increase the growth of your crops, but it also waters them for that day. *And* it refills your water troughs. Which brings me to the third way...
Make an irrigation system using water troughs. Water troughs can hold water which will be spread over all nearby plants without water. This process is automatic. Just make the trough, then plant the crops around it.
I would suggest keeping to 10 crops per trough, 5 on each side. When the trough is filled with water it will be able to support 10 crops for 5 days.
The other addition is the start of a system to keep the status quo in check. Such as sheep that want to eat your wheat crops, or lions that want to steal your meat off the fire.
Hopefully this will change the occasional rain shower from "GODDAMNIT MY FIRES" to "FINALLLY, MY CROPS!".
plz make a watering can too so that i can make a harvest moon map
For a suggestion i would suggest that you add that you need to dig a place for planting
and for terraforming this might be impossible but when you dig with spade the green surface goes down
but it should be like the green color gets removed adding a rough and soily layer to the ground ( probably impossible and you might not understand the way i have written it)
Well in short:
While digging the ground with spade we should see a brown layer instead of grass and flowers
Forgive me for being new to this mod but hitting 'e' on the fire doesn't open any window for me either. Am I correct that this feature is not out yet?
If so, what are the current steps to maintaining a fire? Its really annoying how short it last for...
Also, can people start posting recipes for the new stuff in this mod and how to find some of the ingredients? I have no idea how to find potatoes for example and I can't make bacon either...
*edit*
Ok, figured out the fire situation. Still having a tough time figuring all the other stuff out. Am I even able to mine other ores with this version?
