lol, but it didn't fixed at this time? Ooh, a bug... Let's all run around and scream about it...
Enough sarcasm. This was probably a server transfer error. I can see my ghost in the player list sometimes. Ax3 User Offline
i dont know programming, i think the "ghost player" client sends fake signal about quiting but this was fake and he continues playing No it's caused (or at least one of the causes is) when receiving the playerlist on join.
Every time you join a server, the data of the current players is sent to you. If two people join at the same time, it is possible that you have already loaded the player data, but aren't fully connected yet. You therefore miss him joining and thus you can't see them.
The rest of the players can see them, only you can't. DC Admin Offline
quite strange. the thing Banaan described shouldn't be possible due to the way it is programmed.
I've heard reports about this before. I need to check this obviously Not sure if it really happens that way, but I am sure that it happens when two people join at exactly the same time and that other players are able to see them. DC Admin Offline
the "exactly at the same time" thing can't happen because cs2d doesn't use threads. this means that all incoming join requests (and all other net messages) are processed one after another (it's very fast so you don't note that). simultaneous processing (which could lead to this problem) does never happen in cs2d.
still possible that something comparable is the reason. Exactly as in 'in the same second' then? I can put my name to nothing:D I know one bug about lag (which isn't actually bug, just lag problem) - If I quit server when lagged (so it is stuck, it happens to me often, damn internet), when I connect again, I connect as Vectar666 1 and I see myself at the players list. Lol isn't Dimitri some GTA 4 person? Niko killed him. So his ghost is gonna kill everyone!!!
I think that's the problem... (Lol just joking)
Maybe it's a serverjoin error
